Things to Know for the Week of February 25th – March 1st:

  • If you haven’t purchased your yearbook yet, you better move fast! We  have less than 50 copies of this year’s book left for sale! You can order online through Jostens or snag an order form from outside Ms. Parmelee’s door. Price of the book is $50, but don’t delay that price will increase to $60 starting the week of February 25th. 

  • Hunting and Fishing Club Members: Please check your email for details about working with the Missouri Department of Conservation and earning a $500 grant. It's important that you do this ASAP so we can let them know if we are interested.

  • The OHS STEM class will be leaving Friday, February 22nd for their Chicago trip. While in Chicago, students will visit The Museum of Science and Industry and The Chicago Field Museum. Students will return Monday, February 25th.

  • Spring Sports will begin practice on Monday, February 25th. In order to participate in practice and games, students must make sure they meet the academic requirements. You must also have your physicals turned in to the athletic office prior to the first day of practice. See your coach or Coach Long if you have any questions.

  • Boys volleyball open gyms will be on March 5th and March 6th from 5:30PM-6:30PM. 

    • ​This is open to all boys that submitted permission slips and their coaches.

    • The Boys Volleyball game will take place Friday, March 8th in the OHS Big Gym. Admission will payment or a canned food donation. *More information to come.

  • FCCLA Members: Make sure you fill out the form in Google Classroom by Thursday, February 28th to invite family, friends, and businesses to the FCCLA Cake Auction.

  • OHS Conferences will be held the evening of March 7th. If you plan to meet with your student’s teachers, please get in contact with them in order to set up a time. 

  • The Blood Drive is right around the corner! Tuesday, March 12th, from 9:00AM-1:30PM the Red Cross will be at OHS. Please stop by and donate! Contact Ms. Pyle (kpyle@dutchmen.us) to set up an appointment or visit the Red Cross’ website.

 

Juniors and Seniors:

  • Upcoming College Visits: TBA 
  • SENIORS: You will have a senior meeting on Friday, March 1st, 8th hour. 
  • Prom will be held at Lost Valley on May 4th. The theme is Masquerade. Students are encouraged to develop masks for the evening. Masks may NOT cover the students entire face. (Guidelines will be provided within the coming months.)

  • Due to all of the snow days, the cafeteria menu will be determined each day. This is to ensure food is used within the proper time frame. 

Shout Outs:

  • Congratulations to the speech team for placing 3rd in the 4 Rivers conference final last night at St Clair. A special congratulations to Madison Stogsdill, Mason Russell, and Meci Gates for placing first in their event!
